Research & Developments
CISM Research & Development (R&D) is the dedicated innovation and knowledge division of CISM Academy & Business School (CABS), Kochi, focusing on advancing Workplace Safety and Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) practices across various unorganised and informal sectors in India. The R&D wing undertakes field-based studies, risk assessments, safety audits, and development of practical safety protocols tailored for small-scale industries, construction sites, logistics operations, MSMEs, and other high-risk unorganised workplaces. Special emphasis is given to promoting low-cost, scalable safety solutions that are adaptable to the operational realities of India’s informal workforce. Through research-driven training modules, awareness programmes, and pilot interventions aligned with national competency frameworks of the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), CISM aims to improve safety culture, reduce workplace hazards, and support the implementation of structured OSH practices across the country. By integrating applied research with skill education initiatives in Kochi and beyond, CISM R&D contributes to sustainable workforce development, accident prevention, and the promotion of safe and healthy working environments in India’s unorganised sectors.
